A.

Then who were the men when you got to the tram lines who

separated some going to the right and some going to the left.

Who were they?

It was this as I told the Court. I saw 6 or 7 men running

up the Square. Three Chinese were running on the pavement,

two ahead of the third one. I was on the road chasing 4

other men.

There were 7 or 8 men there altogether?

Yes. As soon as we got to Des Voeux Rd. and Wardley St. the

four men I chased, one went to the left and the three men

running on the pavement ran west and the man alone ran up

Wardley St.

A.

I had no intention of seizing anybody.

A.

I did not hear an Eurpean saying anything x at all, but I

heard Chinese call out "chase him, "catch him".

done wrong?

But I did not know who was the man who had done wrong.
